Motorola has announced the launch of its next flagship smartphone, the Motorola X40 Pro. Motorola’s upcoming flagship smartphone will launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Motorola is likely to launch the phone as Edge 40 Pro in global markets including India. This device is expected to debut in China in December 2022. While waiting for the official release date announcement, MySmartPrice presents the design of the Motorola X40 Pro also known as Edge 40 Pro.
The design render, courtesy of tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer aka OnLeaks, shows the front and back designs of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro. The leaked renders show that the Moto Edge 40 Pro will get some design changes compared to the previous model. Let’s take a look at the design, specifications and other details of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro ahead of its official launch.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be launched in India early next year. Ahead of the India launch, the phone will debut in China as the Motorola X40 Pro. Motorola’s flagship gets a few design changes compared to the Edge 30 Pro, according to a high-quality design render shared exclusively with MySmartPrice by OnLeaks.
There is now a square camera module on the back of the phone. It has three cameras and an LED flash inside. At the center of the back is the Motorola logo.
On the front, there is a punch-hole at the top center of the 6.67-inch curved screen. The design renders also confirm that the right side of the phone is home to the power button and volume rocker. The USB Type-C connector is located between the main speaker grille and the microphone cutout. There is a cutout along the top edge which is presumably for a secondary speaker or microphone.
The Motorola X40 Pro measures 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.6mm according to the latest leak we got from OnLeaks. With a protruding camera module, the device is 10.8mm thick. The X40 Pro 5G will likely come with a glass back. Motorola launched the Edge 30 Pro with a plastic frame, but since the Edge 30 Fusion comes with a metal body, we can expect improvements to carry over to its upcoming successor phones as well. Since the given image has antenna lines on the frame, we can expect the X40 5G to have a metal frame.
